Shen Yun Collections is proud to present The Art of Zhen Shan Ren, a collection of exquisite artwork that celebrates traditional spiritual beliefs and illuminates the modern day persecution of people of faith in communist China.

Shen Yun has a mission of reviving the 5,000 years of Chinese civilization. It's an entire world full of magical stories, noble heroes, and incredible arts. A foundational part of this rich heritage is a deep spirituality centered on meditation, achieving enlightenment, and seeking to follow the Tao. These traditions are alive today in the hearts of Falun Gong practitioners, who follow the principles Zhen, Shan, and Ren (Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance). Yet, they have faced a horrifying persecution in China carried out by the Communist Party. Falun Gong practitioners have responded with nonviolent campaigns to raise awareness and peacefully touch the hearts of the Chinese people and the people of the world. This exhibit is an exciting part of their noble quest.

In the virtual exhibit found here, you will note the universality of the techniques chosen. Most of these are paintings in the style perfected in the European Renaissance. The proportions are perfect, the designs are elegant, the colors are vibrant, and the use of shade and light create a space that viewers of any background can enter and engage. These techniques stand at the pinnacle of not just Western civilization but of all of human civilization. They bridge the ancient folk heritage of the East, with its mysterious and enchanting nature, to the finest arts that humankind today can produce. There is truly nothing like it!
